The Edmonton Masters Lacrosse League is gearing up for another unforgettable year as preparations continue for the 2026 Lee Carlyle Memorial Tournament. With strong interest from across Alberta and a team joining us from British Columbia, this year’s event is set to bring together a passionate group of Masters players for a weekend of competition, connection, and celebration of the game we love.
The tournament, named in honour of longtime official and league cornerstone Lee Carlyle, continues to embody the values he championed: community, camaraderie, and a deep respect for the sport. Each year, the event brings Masters players together to reconnect, compete, and share in the unique spirit that defines our game.
Although the official team entry deadline has passed, the league has confirmed that late inquiries may still be considered depending on available space. Teams hoping to join the event are encouraged to reach out directly to the tournament directors at tournament@edmontonmasterslacrosse.ca.
This year’s tournament will once again highlight what makes Masters lacrosse special — spirited competition, shared history, and a welcoming atmosphere that keeps players returning year after year. With a maximum roster size of 20 players, a limit of five Senior C players per team, and eligibility set at 21+, the event remains focused on showcasing true Masters-level play.
Tournament Directors Andy and Natasha are leading the 2026 planning efforts, ensuring a smooth and memorable experience for all participating teams. In addition to the main event, the league is also tracking several other tournament opportunities throughout the year, including the Calgary Cup, the Chris Letendre Memorial, and the Okotoks Masters Tournament.
As the Masters community looks ahead to another exciting season, the Lee Carlyle Memorial Tournament continues to stand as a flagship event — one that honours the past, celebrates the present, and strengthens the future of the game.
