Season Kickoff: Draft Social, Preseason Sessions, and the Lee Carlyle Memorial Tournament

The 2025 season is right around the corner, and momentum is already building across the Edmonton Masters Lacrosse community. With our annual Draft Social, a full slate of preseason floor time, and the return of the Lee Carlyle Memorial Tournament, March is shaping up to be one of the most exciting months of the year.

Draft Social - March 28

The league’s annual Draft Social returns on Saturday, March 28 at 7:00 PM, hosted at Stages Restaurant inside the DoubleTree by Hilton West Edmonton. This event brings players, volunteers, and league supporters together for an evening of connection, conversation, and the official kickoff to the 2025 season.

The league will be covering food and non-alcoholic beverages for all attendees. Players must RSVP by March 14 to admin@edmontonmasterslacrosse.ca and social@edmontonmasterslacrosse.ca.

Preseason Shinny - March 3, 10, 17, 24 & 31

Our high-tempo preseason shinny sessions are back, offering registered players a chance to shake off the rust and get meaningful touches before evaluations and league play begin.

📍 Location Servus Place, St. Albert Bright Dental N Field House

🕤 Time 9:30-10:30 PM

📝 Who Can Join Open exclusively to registered players for the upcoming season.

🎯 What to Expect

• High-tempo, low-pressure reps

• Plenty of touches and loose balls

• A great chance to reconnect with teammates

• A warm-up before evaluations and league play

These sessions run on March 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31.

Sunday Night Skills & Scrimmage - March 8 & 15

For players looking to sharpen their fundamentals or elevate their game before the season begins, our Sunday Night Skills & Scrimmage sessions offer a balanced, structured preseason tune-up.

📍 Location Servus Place, St. Albert Orion Plastics S Field House

🕗 Time 8:00-9:30 PM (90 minutes)

🧩 Format

• 30 minutes of focused skill development

  • Ideal for newer players learning the basics

  • Valuable for veterans tightening up details

• 60 minutes of structured scrimmage

  • High-tempo, team-oriented play

  • A chance to apply skills in game-like situations

🎯 Why This Session Works

• Supportive environment for new players

• Quality touches and situational reps for returning players

• A balanced, preseason tune-up for all skill levels

📝 Eligibility Open exclusively to registered players for the upcoming season.

Sessions take place on March 8 and 15.

3rd Annual Lee Carlyle Memorial Tournament - March 20-22

The league is proud to once again host the 3rd Annual Lee Carlyle Memorial Tournament, running March 20-22 in St. Albert. This event has quickly become a highlight of the season, bringing together players, families, and the broader lacrosse community to honour Lee’s legacy through competition, camaraderie, and shared love of the game.
